How Much Are FreeStyle Libre 14-Day Sensors Worth?
The 14-Day was the original FreeStyle Libre in the United States, and it's the generation most people are clearing out rather than using. We still buy both the sensor and the reader — current rates are in the tables above, set by how much time is left before the expiration date.
We buy only the expiration windows listed there, and those windows change as our stock moves. Check the table against the date printed on your carton before you ship.
This Is the Generation Most Likely to Be Sitting Unused
Almost everyone still holding 14-Day stock has already moved on from it — to Libre 2, to Libre 3, or off Libre entirely. That's exactly why it accumulates: the prescription changed, but the supplies that had already shipped didn't go anywhere.
There's a practical consequence worth being blunt about. Older-generation sensors have a shorter runway than newer ones, because the stock in circulation was manufactured earlier and the dates on it are closer in. If you have 14-Day boxes in a cupboard, they are worth more today than they will be next quarter, and at some point they fall outside the windows we can buy at all.
The Reader Is a Different Case Entirely
The 14-Day reader has no expiration date, so unlike the sensors it isn't losing value while it sits. We grade it on condition: undamaged, powers on and works, in its original box with the charging cable.
These turn up constantly in the same drawer as the sensors, often unopened, because most people scanned with their phone instead. Worth checking for while you're looking.
What We Can't Buy
- Opened or unsealed sensor boxes.
- Medicare or Medicaid supplies. Government-funded product cannot legally be resold.
- Dates outside the windows we're currently buying — the most common issue with this generation specifically.
- Damaged cartons — crushed, water-stained, torn labels, or marked.
- Readers that are cracked, water-damaged, or won't power on.
- Sensors without the original box.

Yes, graded on condition rather than date. It needs to work, be undamaged, and come with its original box and cable.
I moved to Libre 2 or Libre 3. Can I sell the old stock?
Yes, provided it's sealed, within the windows above, and wasn't funded by Medicare or Medicaid.
