How Much Are FreeStyle Test Strips Worth?

These are the original FreeStyle strips — a separate product from FreeStyle Lite, with its own listings and its own rates. If you've landed here holding Lite boxes, the rates you want are on the FreeStyle Lite page instead.

We buy three versions, shown above. What you're paid comes down to retail versus non-retail packaging, the count, and how much time is left before the expiration date. We buy only the windows currently listed in those tables, and those windows move as our stock turns.

Check the Box Says FreeStyle, Not FreeStyle Lite

This is the most common error on this particular page, and it costs people money in both directions. The two products have similar branding and sit side by side on a pharmacy shelf, but they are different strips for different meters, and we price them separately.

Look at the carton and match the exact wording to the listings above. If there's any doubt, send us a photo of the box before you ship — it takes a minute and avoids a re-quote after the parcel has already travelled.

Retail vs Non-Retail, and Count

  • Retail — 100ct and Retail — 50ct: dispensed over a pharmacy counter, full retail labelling, our higher tiers.
  • Non-Retail — 50ct: supplied through mail-order and similar channels, labelled differently, paid on its own lower tier.

The 100ct and 50ct are separate listings, and a 100ct is not simply two 50cts. If you have a mix, list each type separately so the quote is right first time.

What We Can't Accept

  • Opened or unsealed cartons and vials.
  • Medicare or Medicaid supplies. Government-funded product — usually orange-labelled — cannot legally be resold.
  • Boxes outside the expiration windows we're currently buying.
  • Damaged packaging. Crushed corners, water damage, torn labels, or writing on the carton.
  • Loose vials with no original box.

Why These Turn Up Unused

Fingerstick strips build up quietly. A prescription covers a set number of tests a day; actual testing rarely matches that exactly, and the surplus compounds over months without anyone noticing.

Then the situation changes. A move to continuous glucose monitoring cuts daily testing to almost nothing. A meter is replaced with a different brand and the remaining strips no longer fit anything. A plan year resets and the covered brand changes. Or a family is left with a cupboard of sealed boxes after a bereavement and has no idea they're worth anything.

All of it is sealed, in date, and already paid for. Someone out there is buying the same strips out of pocket.

How Selling Works

  1. Send the details. Which of the three listings, the expiration date, and how many boxes. A photo of the carton is the quickest route.
  2. Ship free on our prepaid label. No minimum, no maximum.
  3. Get paid within one business day of check-in. Zelle can arrive in minutes.

FreeStyle Test Strip FAQs

How much do you pay for FreeStyle test strips?

It depends on the packaging type, the count, and the time remaining. The tables above hold the current rate for each and are always the live answer.

What's the difference between FreeStyle and FreeStyle Lite?

They are different strips for different meters, priced separately. Match the exact wording on your carton to the listings, and check the Lite page if that's what you have.

How do I tell retail from non-retail?

The carton labelling differs. Photograph the box and send it if you're unsure — misidentifying this is the most frequent cause of a changed quote.

Do you buy opened boxes?

No. Cartons and vials must be factory sealed.

Can I sell strips that came through my insurance?

Yes, unless they were funded by Medicare or Medicaid.

How fast do you pay?

Within one business day of your shipment being checked in.
