True Metrix, TrueTest and the supplies that do not fit anywhere else
This section covers Trividia's True Metrix and TrueTest strips, and it is also where a number of less common items live — pump and CGM supplies, a veterinary glucose system, alcohol swabs and CPAP machines. If you are clearing out a supply cupboard and have found something that does not match any of the main brand pages, check here before assuming it is worthless.
True Metrix and TrueTest are not the same strips
Trividia has run several similar names, and mixing them up is the most common error on this page.
- True Metrix works with True Metrix, True Metrix Air and True Metrix Go meters. Listed in retail 50 and 100 counts, plus mail order and NFR versions.
- TrueTest is the older line, with its own 50 and 100 count listings.
Read the name on the box rather than going by the design. One of the True Metrix listings asks you to match the picture exactly rather than just the count — that is because production runs differ and a box that looks close but prints differently is a different product to the next buyer.
Insulin pump and CGM supplies
Several Medtronic items are bought here rather than on the pump brand pages:
- MiniMed Mio infusion sets, in boxes of 10, split into separate listings by how much expiration time is left.
- MiniMed Guardian Sensor 3, in boxes of 5, also split by remaining shelf life.
Those listings are tiered by date rather than lumped together because the difference in remaining life genuinely changes what the box is worth. Find the tier your box falls into rather than quoting against the first one you see.
A Dexcom G6 receiver supplied through DME is also bought here. Receivers, like meters, carry no expiration date, so one sitting unused in a drawer is worth the same as a new one.
AlphaTRAK — the veterinary system
AlphaTRAK is a blood glucose system calibrated for dogs and cats rather than people. Both the meter and the AlphaTRAK 2 strips in 50 count boxes are bought. This is one people almost never think to sell, because it came from a vet rather than a pharmacy and does not look like the rest of the pile. If a pet was on insulin and the supplies outlasted them, they are worth listing.
CPAP machines are quoted individually
Luna and ResMed CPAP machines are listed here, but they are the one category on this site that cannot carry a standard quote. Value depends on the model and on the hours the machine has run, so both listings ask you to contact us first rather than quoting from the page. Have the model number and the hour count to hand when you get in touch and we can give you a straight answer quickly.
Alcohol swabs and the small stuff
BD alcohol swabs in 100 counts are bought. So are a number of the small consumables people assume have no resale value at all. If it came in a sealed box, it is dated, and it is diabetes-related, it is worth including in a shipment rather than throwing away — the marginal cost of adding it to a box you are already sending is nothing.
Expiration windows
Almost everything on this page is dated, and remaining shelf life is the biggest factor in value. Several of the listings above are split into expiration tiers for that reason. We describe requirements in months of remaining life rather than fixed calendar dates, because the windows we buy in change from time to time. The listings are always the current version — match your item, read its requirement, compare it to the printed date.
Meters, receivers and CPAP machines are the exceptions. They carry no expiration at all.
Condition
Sealed and unopened, no writing on the box, no torn label residue, no water staining, no crushing. Infusion sets and sensors are held to the same standard as strips — an opened box cannot be resold and cannot be quoted.
How selling works
Match each item to a listing above, or get in touch first for anything quoted individually. Send photos so we can confirm identification, counts and dates before anything ships. We cover shipping. Payment goes out within one business day of the shipment arriving and being checked, with Zelle usually landing within minutes. If something does not match, we tell you what it was and why before finalising.
Why sell these supplies to us
