How Much Is a Dexcom G6 Receiver Worth?

The G6 receiver is priced on condition alone. There's no expiration date on it — it's hardware, not a consumable — so unlike sensors and transmitters, the calendar doesn't erode its value. What matters is whether it arrives undamaged. The current rate is in the table above.

That's genuinely good news if you've been sitting on one. A sealed G6 sensor loses value every month it waits. A G6 receiver in good condition does not.

Condition Is the Only Grade

We buy G6 receivers in undamaged condition: no cracks in the screen, no dents in the housing, no water exposure, and the unit powers on and functions normally. It should arrive in its original box with the contents that came with it, including the charging cable.

Cosmetic perfection isn't required, but structural damage is disqualifying. If you're not sure where yours falls, photograph the unit and the box from a few angles and send it over. We'd far rather tell you honestly up front than have you pay to ship something we can't buy.

Most G6 Receivers Were Never Even Opened

There's a reason so many of these are still shrink-wrapped. The G6 works with a phone app, and most people used the app. The receiver that shipped alongside their sensor prescription went into a drawer on day one and stayed there.

So the typical G6 receiver we buy isn't a worn second-hand device at all. It's a new unit that was dispensed, never needed, and forgotten — and with the G6 being displaced by the G7, a lot of people are clearing out that drawer for the first time in years. If you're doing exactly that, check for more than one. They tend to accumulate quietly, one per prescription cycle.

What We Can't Buy

  • Cracked screens or units that won't power on. Cosmetic wear is one thing; a broken device can't be passed on.
  • Water-damaged hardware. Corrosion, or a tripped moisture indicator.
  • Receivers with no box or missing contents. The original packaging and charging cable are part of what makes it resellable.
  • Medicare or Medicaid units. Government-funded supplies cannot legally be resold, hardware included.
  • Units with personal data still stored on them. Please clear yours before shipping.

How to Sell a G6 Receiver

  1. Send photos. The unit, the box, and the label. With hardware, photos settle a quote far faster than a description does.
  2. Ship free. We email a prepaid label. Wrap the receiver so it can't knock around in transit — damage that happens on the way to us is still damage.
  3. Get paid in one business day. Zelle can arrive within minutes of check-in.

Dexcom G6 Receiver FAQs

How much do you pay for a Dexcom G6 receiver?

The current rate for an undamaged unit is shown in the table above. Rates change from time to time, so that table is the live figure.

Does a receiver expire?

No. It's hardware with no expiration date, which is why we grade it on condition rather than on months remaining.

Does it have to be sealed?

No, but it does need to be undamaged, functional, and complete with its original box and charging cable. Sealed units are ideal.

My receiver has a scratch on the screen. Will you take it?

Send a photo. Light cosmetic wear is usually fine; a crack is not.

I have several from different prescription cycles. Can I send them together?

Yes, and you should — one shipment, one label, one payment. There's no minimum or maximum order.

Do I need to erase my data first?

Yes, please clear any personal information from the device before you ship it.

How fast do you pay?

Within one business day of your shipment being checked in.

Other Dexcom Supplies We Buy

If you're clearing out G6 equipment, the sensors and transmitters are usually worth more than the receiver. We buy G6 sensors, G6 transmitters, Dexcom G7 sensors, G7 15 Day sensors, and G7 receivers. See everything on our Dexcom page or browse all diabetic supplies we buy.
