How Much Is a Dexcom G7 Receiver Worth?

Receivers are priced differently from sensors, and it catches people out. There's no expiration date on a receiver — it's hardware, not a consumable — so what we pay comes down to two things instead: the part number, and the physical condition of the unit. There's also a volume tier. Send three or more receivers of the same type in one shipment and each one earns the higher rate. If you've been collecting them across several prescription cycles, it's worth sending them together rather than one at a time.

Condition Is the Whole Game

Because there's no date to grade against, condition does all the work. We sort G7 receivers into two buckets:

• No damage — sealed in the original box, no dents, no scuffs on the housing, no cracks in the screen, all original contents present. This earns the top rate, and the top rate again if you send three or more.
• Dinged — cosmetically marked but functional. Scuffs, a dented corner, a scratched screen. We still buy these, at a lower tier shown above.

If you're unsure which bucket yours falls into, photograph the unit and the box from a couple of angles and send it over. We'd rather tell you honestly before you ship than downgrade a quote after the parcel arrives.

Why So Many G7 Receivers Are Still Sealed

Here's the thing about receivers: most people never take them out of the box. The G7 pairs directly with a phone, and the app does everything the receiver does, so the hardware that ships alongside a sensor prescription often goes straight into a drawer unopened.

That means the typical G7 receiver we buy isn't second-hand at all — it's a brand-new unit that was dispensed, never needed, and forgotten. If you've got one or several sitting in a closet still shrink-wrapped, that's the best-case scenario for both of us. It also means you may have more of them than you realize; check anywhere old prescription boxes accumulate.

What We Can't Buy

• Medicare or Medicaid units. Supplies funded by a government program cannot legally be resold, receivers included.
• Receivers without the original box and contents. The charging cable and packaging are part of what makes it resellable.
• Cracked screens or non-functional units. Cosmetic dings are fine and we pay for them. Anything that won't power on or read is not something we can pass along.
• Water-damaged hardware. Corrosion or moisture indicators tripped.
• Units with personal data still on them. Clear them before shipping.

No damage means sealed or pristine, with the original box and contents. Dinged means visible cosmetic wear — scuffs, a dented corner, a scratched screen — on a unit that still works. Both are bought; the tiers differ.

Do I get more for sending several at once?

Yes. Three or more of the same receiver type in a single shipment earns the higher tier on each unit.

Does it need to be unopened?

Sealed units earn the most, but we do buy opened receivers in good physical condition. Send a photo and we'll tell you where yours lands.

What if the screen is cracked?

We can't buy it. Cosmetic dings to the housing are fine, but a cracked screen makes the unit unsellable.
