How Much Are Accu-Chek Guide Test Strips Worth?
Accu-Chek Guide is the newer of the main Accu-Chek strip lines and one we buy steadily. Four listings are shown above, priced on packaging type, count, and how many months are left before the expiration date.
We buy only the expiration windows currently listed in those tables. Those windows move as our stock turns over, so the table is the live answer rather than a fixed rule.
Guide Boxes Come in More Than One Count — Read Yours
This is the quirk specific to Guide, and it trips people up. Two of our listings cover a pair of counts rather than a single number:
- Retail — 100ct
- Retail — 50ct
- Retail — 25ct / 30ct
- Non-Retail — 50ct / 60ct
Guide has shipped in both 25 and 30, and in both 50 and 60, depending on the batch and the channel. So "a small box of Guide" isn't specific enough to quote against — the number printed on your carton is what matters.
Before you request a quote, read the actual count off the box rather than estimating. If the printing is worn, photograph it and send it over.
Retail vs Non-Retail
Retail boxes are dispensed over a pharmacy counter with full retail labelling and earn our higher rates. Non-retail boxes arrive through mail-order and similar channels, are labelled differently, and are paid on their own lower tier.
The two can look alike at a glance. Check the carton itself, and send a photo if you're uncertain — we'd rather tell you the tier before you ship than re-quote afterwards.
Guide Is Not Aviva Plus
Accu-Chek runs several strip lines with similar branding, and they are not interchangeable: Guide, Aviva Plus, SmartView and Compact Plus. Each has its own page and its own rates here.
Match the exact wording on your carton to the listings above. If it says anything other than Guide, follow the link to the right page.
What We Can't Accept
- Opened or unsealed cartons and vials.
- Medicare or Medicaid supplies. Government-funded product — usually orange-labelled — cannot legally be resold.
- Boxes outside the expiration windows we're currently buying.
- Damaged packaging. Crushed corners, water damage, torn labels, or writing on the carton.
- Loose vials with no original box.
Why These End Up Unused
A strip prescription assumes a certain number of tests per day. Real life doesn't hold to that, and the difference accumulates as boxes at the back of a cupboard.
Then the situation changes suddenly. Someone moves to a CGM and stops fingersticking almost entirely. A meter is swapped for a different brand, and Guide strips fit nothing anymore. Insurance changes the covered brand at the start of a plan year. Or a family is left with sealed boxes after a bereavement.
All of it is in date, sealed and already paid for — and someone else is buying the same boxes retail.

The non-retail listing covers both 50 and 60. Check the labelling to confirm it's a non-retail carton, and send a photo if you're not sure.
What about a 30 count?
The retail 25/30 listing covers both. Again, the number printed on your box is what we quote against.
Is Guide the same as Aviva Plus?
No. Different strips for different meters, priced separately. See the Aviva Plus page if that's what you have.
Do boxes have to be sealed?
Yes, cartons and vials both.
Can I sell strips that came through insurance?
Yes, unless they were funded by Medicare or Medicaid.
