How Much Are Accu-Chek Lancets Worth?
Lancets are the item people most often assume aren't worth selling, and they're wrong often enough that it's worth saying plainly: we buy them, and they add up. We handle two Accu-Chek lancet types, listed above, each priced on its own tier according to how much time is left before the expiration date.
We buy only the expiration windows shown in those tables, and those windows shift as our stock turns over.
Fastclix and Softclix Are Not the Same Thing
This is the whole game on this page, and it's a genuine either/or:
- Accu-Chek Fastclix — supplied as pre-loaded drums. Each drum holds several lancets and loads into a Fastclix device.
- Accu-Chek Softclix — individual lancets in a box, used with a Softclix lancing device.
They fit different devices and cannot be substituted for one another, which is exactly why we price them separately. The packaging looks broadly similar, so read the name on the box rather than going by shape.
If you can't tell, photograph the carton. Fastclix drums and Softclix singles look quite different once you can see inside the labelling.
Yes, Lancets Have Expiration Dates
People are frequently surprised by this. Lancets are sterile single-use items, and the sterility has a shelf life — so the box carries a date, and we buy against the same kind of expiration windows as test strips.
The practical upshot is that a box of lancets sitting in a drawer is on the same clock as everything else. If you've stopped fingersticking, they're worth checking now rather than eventually.
Send Them With Your Strips
Lancets are light, they're cheap to ship, and they travel perfectly well in the same parcel as test strips. Since almost everyone who has spare lancets also has spare strips, the sensible move is one shipment covering both.
On their own, a box or two of lancets is a modest amount of money. Bundled with the strips you were already sending, it's found money for no extra effort.
What We Can't Buy
- Opened or unsealed boxes. Sterility is the product — an opened carton can't be passed on.
- Medicare or Medicaid supplies. Government-funded product cannot legally be resold.
- Boxes outside the expiration windows currently listed above.
- Damaged packaging — crushed, water-stained, torn labels, or written on.
- Loose lancets or drums with no original box.

What's the difference between Fastclix and Softclix?
Fastclix comes as pre-loaded drums; Softclix comes as individual lancets. They fit different lancing devices and aren't interchangeable, so they're priced separately.
Do lancets expire?
Yes. They're sterile single-use items and the box carries an expiration date, which is what we price against.
Is it worth sending lancets on their own?
They're worth more sent alongside test strips, since it's one free label either way. But there's no minimum order, so you're welcome to send lancets alone.
Do the boxes need to be sealed?
Yes. An opened box can't be resold.
Can I sell lancets that came through insurance?
Yes, unless they were funded by Medicare or Medicaid.
How fast do you pay?
