How Much Are Accu-Chek Aviva Plus Test Strips Worth?
Aviva Plus is the highest-volume Accu-Chek strip we handle, and we buy it in four configurations. The rate comes down to three things: whether the box is retail or non-retail, the count, and how many months are left before the expiration date. All four tiers are in the tables above.
We buy only the expiration windows shown there, and those windows shift as our inventory turns over. Check the current table against the date printed on your box before you ship.
Retail vs Non-Retail Is Where the Money Is
This single distinction accounts for more price surprises than anything else on the page.
- Retail boxes are dispensed over a pharmacy counter and carry full retail labelling. These earn our higher rates, and we buy them in 100ct, 50ct and 25ct.
- Non-retail boxes come through mail-order and similar channels. They're labelled differently and paid on a separate, lower tier — we list the 50ct.
The cartons look similar at a glance, and going from memory is how people end up disappointed. Look at the box. If it isn't obvious, photograph the label and send it over before you ship — we'll tell you which tier applies in a minute.
Three Retail Counts, Three Rates
Aviva Plus retail comes in 100ct, 50ct and 25ct, and each is a separate listing. The rates don't scale in a straight line — a 100ct isn't two 50cts, and a 50ct isn't two 25cts.
If you have a mixture, and most people do, list each count separately when you request a quote. It's the difference between a number that holds and one that changes after the parcel arrives.
Make Sure It Says Aviva Plus
Accu-Chek sells several strip lines that are not interchangeable and are priced separately here: Aviva Plus, Guide, SmartView and Compact Plus. The branding is similar across all of them.
Check the exact wording on your carton against the listings above. If it says something other than Aviva Plus, the rates you want are on one of the pages linked there.
What Makes a Box Sellable
- Factory sealed. Vial and carton unopened.
- Undamaged. No crushed corners, water staining, torn labels, or pen and marker on the box.
- Inside a window we're currently buying. Match the printed date to the table above.
- Not Medicare or Medicaid. Government-funded supplies, usually carrying an orange label, cannot legally be resold. This one is absolute.
- In the original carton. Loose vials can't be verified.
Why Aviva Plus Strips Pile Up
Fingerstick strips accumulate quietly. A prescription is written for a set number of tests a day, real testing rarely matches that exactly, and the surplus compounds month after month without anyone noticing.
Then something shifts. A move to continuous glucose monitoring cuts daily testing to almost nothing overnight. A meter is replaced with a different brand and the remaining strips fit nothing in the house. A plan year resets and the covered brand changes. Or a family is clearing a cupboard after a bereavement and finds a stack of sealed boxes they assume are worthless.
They aren't. Somebody is buying exactly those boxes out of pocket right now.

Yes. An opened vial or carton can't be resold, so it has no value to us.
