How Much Are Accu-Chek Compact Plus Test Strips Worth?
Compact Plus is unlike the other Accu-Chek lines, and the counts on our listings give it away immediately: 102 and 51 rather than 100 and 50. We buy three configurations, priced on packaging type and how many months are left before the expiration date. Current tiers are in the tables above.

Why the Counts Are 102 and 51
Compact Plus doesn't use loose strips in a vial. It uses pre-loaded drums, and each drum holds a fixed number of tests — which is why the box counts land on 102 and 51 instead of the round numbers you see everywhere else in the category.
This matters for two practical reasons. First, if you're looking at a box of Accu-Chek strips with an odd count like that, you're almost certainly holding Compact Plus and you're on the right page. Second, quantities have to be quoted as whole boxes — a partial box with drums missing isn't sellable, because the next person needs a complete, sealed pack.
The Three Listings
- Retail — 102ct and Retail — 51ct: dispensed over a pharmacy counter with full retail labelling. Our higher tiers.
- Non-Retail — 51ct: through mail-order and similar channels, labelled differently, on its own tier.
Retail and non-retail cartons look similar. Check the box, and photograph the label if you're unsure — it's the difference between two rates.
This Is Legacy Stock, So Timing Matters More
Compact Plus is an older system, and most people still holding boxes have already moved to a newer meter. That's precisely why the boxes are still there: the meter changed, the strips didn't go anywhere, and a drum-based system's strips fit nothing else.
The practical consequence is that stock still circulating from this line was manufactured earlier, so dates tend to run closer in than on current-generation strips. Every month narrows the gap, and at some point a box falls outside the windows we can buy at all. If these have been in a drawer since you switched meters, check the table sooner rather than later.
The upside: because so few people sell them, the ones who still use a Compact Plus meter are buying at full retail. These are worth more than most people assume.
What We Can't Buy
- Opened or unsealed boxes, or boxes with drums missing.
- Medicare or Medicaid supplies. Government-funded product cannot legally be resold.
- Boxes outside the expiration windows currently listed — worth checking carefully on a legacy line.
- Damaged packaging — crushed, water-stained, torn labels, or written on.
- Loose drums with no original carton.

Why does my box say 102 instead of 100?

My meter has been replaced. Are the strips still worth anything?
Yes, provided they're sealed and within the current windows. Other people still run Compact Plus meters and buy these boxes at retail.

No. Boxes must be sealed and complete — a partial pack can't be passed on.
How do I tell retail from non-retail?
The carton labelling differs. Send a photo if it isn't obvious.
