How Much Are Omnipod Pods Worth?
These are the original Omnipod pods — the generation that came before DASH and Omnipod 5. We still actively buy them in three pack sizes, and the rate depends on which box you have and how many months are left before the expiration date. Current tiers are in the tables above.
We buy only the expiration windows listed there, and those windows change as our stock turns over. Compare the table against the date printed on your carton before you ship.
Make Sure These Are the Ones You Have
Omnipod has shipped three distinct pod systems, and the boxes are not interchangeable. Before you request a quote, confirm which generation is actually in your cupboard:
- Omnipod PODs — the original system. That's this page.
- DASH Pods — the middle generation, priced separately.
- Omnipod 5 — the current system, and one where we can only buy boxes whose UPC ends in 021.
The cartons look broadly similar at a glance. If you're not certain, photograph the box and send it over before packing anything — misidentifying the generation is the most common reason a quote changes after a parcel arrives.
Three Pack Sizes, Priced Independently
- Omnipod PODs — 10ct
- Omnipod PODs — 5ct
- Omnipod PODs — 1ct (Single)
Each has its own rate, and they don't scale in a straight line. A 10ct isn't two 5cts. If you have a mixture, list each size separately so the quote is accurate the first time.

Almost everyone still holding original Omnipod boxes has already moved on to DASH or Omnipod 5. The pods didn't move with them, because a 90-day prescription of a product replaced every few days is a large physical quantity, and a mid-cycle switch leaves most of it behind.
Being direct about the consequence: the stock still circulating from this generation was manufactured earlier, so the dates on it run closer in than on current-generation pods. Every month narrows the gap. If these have been sitting in a closet since you upgraded, check the windows above sooner rather than later — at some point a box falls outside them and we can't buy it at all.
What We Can't Buy
- Opened or unsealed boxes. Factory sealed and in excellent condition.
- Medicare or Medicaid supplies. Government-funded product cannot legally be resold.
- Dates outside the windows we're currently buying — the most common issue with this generation specifically.
- Damaged cartons — crushed, water-stained, torn labels, or marked.
- Loose pods with no original packaging.

How do I tell original pods from DASH or Omnipod 5?
The carton labelling differs between the three systems. If it isn't obvious, send us a photo before shipping — it takes a minute and prevents a re-quote.
Is a 10ct worth two 5ct boxes?
No. Separate listings, separate rates. List them separately when you ask.
My pods have been in a closet for a while. Still worth anything?
Check the current windows in the table above. Once a box falls outside them we can't purchase it, and with this generation that point arrives sooner. Send a photo if you're near the edge.
Can I sell pods that came through insurance?
Yes, provided they weren't funded by Medicare or Medicaid.
How fast do you pay?
