How Much Are Omnipod 5 Pods Worth?
Omnipod 5 pods are among the most sought-after items we buy, and the rate is set by two things: how much time is left before the expiration date, and whether you have a 5-count box or a single pod. Both listings and their current tiers are in the tables above.
We buy only the expiration windows shown there. Those windows move as our inventory turns over, so treat the table as the live answer rather than a fixed rule.
Check the UPC Before Anything Else
This page has one requirement that catches almost everybody, and it's worth reading twice.
We can only purchase Omnipod 5 boxes where the UPC ends in 021. Not "usually", not "preferably" — only. Omnipod 5 has shipped under more than one UPC, and the others cannot be resold through us at any price.
The UPC is the barcode number printed on the outside of the carton. Look at the last three digits. If they read 021, you're in the right place and the tables above apply to you. If they don't, we can't buy that box, and knowing before you pack saves you the trip to the post office.
If the barcode is scuffed or you can't tell, photograph it and send it over. We'll confirm in a minute, and it's the single most useful thing you can do before shipping Omnipod 5.
5-Count and Single Pods Are Priced Separately
- Omnipod 5 — 5ct — the standard sealed box of five pods.
- Omnipod 5 — Single — an individual pod, on its own tier.
Five singles are not the same as one 5ct box, and the rates differ. If you have a mix, list them separately when you request a quote so the number you're given is accurate the first time.
Why Pod Users End Up With So Many Spare Boxes
Pods are replaced every few days, which means a 90-day prescription is a genuinely large quantity of boxes — far more physical product than most other diabetic supplies. When something changes, the leftover pile is correspondingly big.
And things change often on this system. Someone moves from DASH up to Omnipod 5. Someone moves off pods to a tubed pump, or to injections. A plan year resets and the formulary shifts. A prescription is paused during a hospital stay while the auto-ship keeps running.
The result is a closet with a serious number of sealed, in-date pods in it. That's real money sitting still, and unlike hardware, it's losing a little of its value every month.
What We Can't Buy
- Any UPC that doesn't end in 021. The first thing to check, and non-negotiable.
- Opened or unsealed boxes. Cartons must be factory sealed and in excellent condition.
- Medicare or Medicaid supplies. Government-funded product — usually carrying an orange label — cannot legally be resold.
- Dates outside the windows we're currently buying. Check the tables above.
- Damaged cartons. Crushed corners, water staining, torn labels, pen or marker on the box.
- Loose pods with no original packaging.

Omnipod 5 has shipped under more than one UPC, and only the 021 version is one we're able to resell. Boxes with a different UPC can't be purchased regardless of condition or date.

Is a 5ct box worth five singles?
No. They're separate listings at separate rates. List them separately when asking for a quote.
Can I sell pods I got through insurance?
Yes, as long as they weren't paid for by Medicare or Medicaid. Commercial insurance supplies you no longer need are yours to sell.
I have a lot of boxes. Is there a maximum?
No maximum and no minimum. Pods are light, so even a large quantity ships in one parcel on our label.
